Disclosure version 2026-05-27.v1 · Last updated: May 27, 2026
This page is the verbatim SMS disclosure that every Mustr user agrees to before SMS messages can be sent to their phone. It satisfies the consent-documentation requirements of the U.S. carrier 10DLC program (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular) and the CTIA Short Code Monitoring Handbook.
SMS is off by default. Each user is individually invited by an authorized district administrator and, after signing in with their district-issued account, is shown the exact consent control reproduced below. SMS is only enabled for that user if they deliberately check this box — it is never pre-checked, and leaving it unchecked still grants full access to the app. Each opt-in is recorded server-side with a timestamp, the disclosure version in effect, and the originating IP address.
Reproduction of the live opt-in screen shown on the invite-acceptance page (the user's phone number on file is displayed so they can confirm which number will receive alerts)
Mobile phone number on file with your district
(517) 555-0142
This is the number that will receive SMS alerts. Contact your district administrator to update it.
You will only receive SMS from Mustr if (a) your school district has an active Mustr subscription, (b) you have been invited by an authorized district administrator and have signed in with your district-issued Clerk SSO account, and (c) you have checked the box reading "I agree to receive SMS emergency alerts from Mustr" on the invite-acceptance page. Checking that box is the only way SMS is enabled on your account.
Mustr SMS is reserved for two narrow purposes:
HOLD, SECURE, LOCKDOWN, EVACUATE, SHELTER, or ALL CLEAR) and the push notification cannot be delivered to your device, or your device has not checked in within the last 48 hours. We never send marketing, promotional, fundraising, or third-party content over SMS. Drills, monthly delivery tests, and routine school communications are delivered via push notification only.
Lansing Catholic: LOCKDOWN – Threat in or near building. Lock doors, lights off, out of sight. – Mustr. Reply STOP to opt out. Message frequency is driven by school events and is not on a fixed schedule. A typical district receives fewer than 5 messages per month. During an active incident a single recipient may receive 1–6 messages over the course of the event.
Standard message and data rates may apply. Mustr does not charge end users for SMS; your wireless carrier may. If you are on a pay-per-message plan, contact your carrier before opting in.
You can revoke SMS consent at any time in three ways:
STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT) to any Mustr SMS. We immediately stop sending SMS to that number and send one confirmation message.Opting out of SMS does not close your Mustr account; you will still receive emergency push notifications inside the Mustr mobile app and will still see live updates on the admin console.
